For the good of college basketball, bring back the suits

There's an epidemic raging throughout college basketball in 2025: No, it's not the threat of tournament expansion, NIL, airplane scuffles, or coaches retiring midseason that's hurting the game; it's the fashion—or lack thereof—from coaching staffs around the country.      Not too long ago, it was customary to see the sport's best coaches wear their best. Legends like John Thompson and Dean Smith from back in the day added to the drama unfolding on the court on a nightly basis with their outside the box tie and jacket decisions. But things have changed in the more modern-era the past five years.      Quarter-zips and sneakers became the trend across the basketball world after the Covid pandemic forced sports around the country to play games without fans in attendance and as a result, coaches  decided on a more casual look. A decision that made perfect sense at the time, and after all, it's not like there was anyone around to i...

Let's relax on the CFP hate....for now

Embed from Getty Images   The internet has been on fire this week after the first round games of the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff all ended up being terrible. With the exception of the Clemson-Texas game (just barely,) each of them were pretty unwatchable as a neutral fan with the final results seeming inevitable not long after the games started. While yes, it sucks to have horrible games when the stakes are highest, it shouldn't have been as big of a surprise as it seems to have been and it doesn't mean the committee put the wrong teams in field *ducks.*      The four team playoff brought us plenty of crappy results since its inception in 2014, just ask Cincinnati, TCU, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Florida State, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Michigan, and Washington. Yes, its a pretty long list of trash games if you go back and look at the scores.      Fox's Joel Klatt shared his thoughts on the blo...

College Basketball: NCAA Tournament Expansion

College sports have been full of change the last few years, from NIL, the transfer portal, and conference realignment. While the NCAA has decided to amend some of its archaic policies for the good of student-athletes, it is also looking to reshape the sport of college basketball and its premier event.      The NCAA recently released potential plans to expand both the men's and women's basketball tournaments as early as the 2025-26 season. Currently, both tournaments sit at 68 teams, with the proposal aiming to add play-in games around the existing format. These new play-in games would include teams slotted as 10-12 seeds. The tournament could expand to either 72 or 76 teams under this proposal. The NCAA Basketball committee was scheduled to meet this week to discuss the state of the tournament with expansion being the most notable topic.      There are different reasons to side against this expansion but I worry most about the ef...

College Baseball: Jim Schlossnagle's departure from Texas A&M

The College World Series delivered for college baseball fans and those who decided to tune in for the action the past few weeks. We were treated with so many great games on the field with multiple dramatic walk-offs in the first two days and capped off with a competitive winner-take-all game three between Tennessee and Texas A&M. For all the drama on the field, it seems what happened off of it may have triumphed over it all. After A&M's loss, a reporter asked Aggie head coach Jim Schlossnagle for comment on the rumors surrounding the University of Texas's head coaching vacancy and his future with Texas A&M to which Schlossnagle responded by saying it was a selfish question to ask and subsequently explained he took the A&M job with the intention of never leaving for another position. After finishing his comment, he quickly got up from his seat and left the press room. That game was played on June 24th and just one day later, Schlossnagle was ann...
